About Ann

I have been a practicing Psychotherapist for over 19 years. I received my Masters in Clinical Social work from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.

Upon graduation I completed several post-graduate programs in group & experiential Psychotherapy. I was always drawn to practicing within a holistic framework, integrating thoughts, emotions & physical sensations in the moment. Five years ago I obtained my 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification. Since then, I have completed several hundred hours of additional training in yoga & Yoga Therapy. The emphasis of my yoga therapy training has been on emotional health/wellness. I am currently completing the final certification in the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy program. Prior to re-locating to Saratoga Springs, I maintained a successful private practice on Long Island. I valued my work & clients however began to feel there was something missing in the "talk therapy" approach I had always used, despite clients improvements. I came to realize after years of my own yoga practice & then my many trainings as a yoga teacher & yoga therapist, that the missing link was the body. This curiosity & recognition of the importance of integration is what has lead me on a path of discovery the last several years into exploring alternative approaches to Psychotherapy which now incorporate aspects of yoga & Eastern Philosophy/Psychology such as: breath work; meditation; mindfulness; postures & spirituality. I find this integrative approach to be most effective for lasting insight & change as it helps clients to recognize the strengths they posess within them. My clients come to understand that they have always had the answers. It was a matter of finding them.
